I've never boxed. How do I start?

Our Intro to Boxing program is a great way to get started. It's an eight class program based over four weeks. The course takes you through the basics of boxing and is a great way to get involved with the Vintage Boxing family.

Can I still train if I don't want to do sparring or fighting?

Anyone of any training level is welcome to train at Vintage Boxing. Vintage is for everyone, including people who want to hit fitness goals and get in shape.

How much is membership?

Memberships start at $150/month. You can find out more on our Pricing Page.

Do boxing gloves come with the membership?

Boxing gloves are included with the Intro to Boxing program only.

What is included with the membership?

What you get with a membership at Vintage Boxing is strength and conditioning, mobility and recover, breathing exercises and techniques, and authentic and real boxing techniques from certified trainers. You can also come and just train whenever you would like. Sparring is also available if you're interested in that. There's also discounted rates on our Recovery Room services which include the best price for cryotherapy in Richmond, a sauna, and compression treatments.

What are the key benefits of boxing?

Boxing improves balance, posture, strengthens upper body and your core, boosts endurance, increases alertness, enhances mood, and improves hand-eye coordination.

Should I add a boxing workout to my traditional workout routine?

Boxing is a great way to change up your traditional workout. It's great for cardio and building up endurance as well as building strength. The boxing stance is a slight crouching stance which builds up the lower body and core. Throwing punches on the heavy bag builds the upper body. Boxing uses multiple muscle groups at the same time which also builds your cardiovascular health. You get all of this and it tones you up as well. It's a win-win!

How many calories can I expect to lose during a boxing workout?

Women can expect to burn about 400 calories an hour and men can expect to burn about 500 calories an hour during a typical boxing workout.

Is boxing good for weight loss?

Boxing is a great way to lose weight! Not only do you get a great workout, you can learn about proper nutrition as well.

Do I need to be in fighting shape to join?

Absolutely not. Anyone of any skill level can join Vintage Boxing. Whether you're just getting started in your workout journey, a child who wants to burn off some energy while learning proper technique, a senior, or even a world class athlete, we've got something for everyone!
